About Me

Hello, my name is Michele Wardall and I am a Clinical Hypnotherapist, Psychotherapist and Reiki Master living and working in the beautiful Forest of Dean.

I am also a retired Staff Nurse with many years of experience working in NHS hospitals and hospice care here in the UK, and at a nurse-led community outpost overseas.

My class, Clifton Practice Hypnotherapy Training (CPHT) Bristol

I trained in hypnotherapy and psychotherapy at The Clifton Practice in Bristol – the leading national training school for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy – where I was taught by its founder, David Newton.

David Newton, Director and Senior Course Lecturer of CPHT

.

I achieved a Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (DSFH) and the accredited Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma (HPD)

Why did I choose to train in this type of hypnotherapy in particular?

I chose Solution Focused Hypnotherapy because I believe it is suitable for everybody. It can help with emotional and psychological difficulties and, through that route, offers support with many physical complaints, too. It alleviates suffering and promotes mental well-being and this makes it a truly person-centred, wholesome and holistic modality, which is what I love about it. I work with both children and adults, from primary school-age children to the most senior citizens and everyone in-between – everybody receives a warm welcome at my Lydbrook practice.

Reiki Master Practitioner

I qualified as a practitioner in Usui Reiki Ryoho about 25 years ago, alongside my nursing career, and have been using it ever since – and not just on humans, I Reiki everything, including animals, plants, food, and the planet. It’s such a beautiful, loving, gentle yet powerful practice, and is as much a way of life for me as it is a therapy for my clients. I find using it on myself is an act of self-care and daily ritual I benefit from hugely, a way of honouring my own mind, body and spirit, and keeping myself grounded and cared for prior to seeing people in my therapy room isn’t just a good thing for me, it’s also an act of care and respect towards my clients: by making sure my own energy is clean and tidy before our session begins is a form of spiritual hygiene that honours both of us – and sets the scene perfectly for you to experience this most compassionate, loving, ‘universal lifeforce energy’ that we know as Reiki.

Insurance and DBS

I am fully insured and hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate for working with Adults and Children.

Professional Memberships & Registrations

All professional bodies have a Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics that members and registrants must adhere to, including a commitment to regular supervision and continued professional development to keep their skills up to date.

My professional registrations for practising Solution Focused Hypnotherapy are with The National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH) as an Accredited Member, MNCH (Acc.) and the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC)

Upgrading from Registered Membership to Accredited Membership of the NCH is only awarded to more experienced NCH members once they have been in practice for a number of years, who also hold a Hypnotherapy in Practice Diploma (HPD), and have demonstrated the degree of professional competence expected at this level of membership.

Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care, a body accountable to Parliament, providing additional assurance that registrants meet UK-wide standards of patient safety and service quality. The CNHC acts within the public interest and is the only organisation set up with government support to do so, and government has recommended that when seeking help from a complementary healthcare practitioner you should only choose one from an accredited register.

My professional registration for practising Reiki as a Reiki Master Practitioner is with the UK Reiki Federation (UKRF)

UKRF logoSince 1999, we have been at the forefront for developing the highest standards for Reiki education, training, research, and practice. We continue to be actively involved in high-level representative groups working on revised standards for training of professional practitioners in the United Kingdom. Now the largest Reiki-only professional organisation in the UK and Europe, we are here for every step of your Reiki journey.” – UKRF

Additional qualifications:

.

  • I am fully qualified in the use of Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) which can be a helpful adjunct to psychotherapy, hypnotherapy and Reiki practice and is a useful self-help tool for anyone to learn.
  • I hold a teaching certificate in teaching English as a foreign language (TESOL). While this may not seem strictly relevant, the ability to teach and explain concepts in a fun and easily absorbed way undoubtedly is.
  • I originally qualified as a nurse and have many years experience working in that profession, but I no longer practise nursing and so I have not maintained my registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
