About Me

Hello, my name is Michele Wardall and I am a Clinical Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist living and working in the beautiful Forest of Dean.

I am also a retired Staff Nurse with many years of experience working in NHS hospitals and hospice care here in the UK, and at a nurse-led community outpost overseas.

My class, Clifton Practice Hypnotherapy Training (CPHT) Bristol

I trained in hypnotherapy and psychotherapy at The Clifton Practice in Bristol – the leading national training school for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy – where I was taught by its founder, David Newton.

David Newton, Director and Senior Course Lecturer of CPHT

.

I achieved a Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (DSFH) and the accredited Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma (HPD)

.

.

Why did I choose to train in this type of hypnotherapy in particular?

I chose Solution Focused Hypnotherapy because I believe it is suitable for everybody. It can help with emotional and psychological difficulties and, through that route, offers support with many physical complaints, too. It alleviates suffering and promotes mental well-being and this makes it a truly person-centred, wholesome and holistic modality, which is what I love about it. I work with both children and adults, from primary school-age children to the most senior citizens and everyone in-between – everybody receives a warm welcome at my Lydbrook practice.

.

Insurance and DBS

I am fully insured and hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate for working with Adults and Children.

(DBS is the Disclosure and Barring Service and was formerly known as the Criminal Record Bureau, or CRB, check. It changed its name when it merged with the Independent Safeguarding Authority in 2013.)

.

Professional Memberships & Registrations

All professional bodies have a Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics that members and registrants must adhere to, including a commitment to regular supervision and continued professional development to keep their skills up to date.

My professional registration is with The National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH) as an Accredited Member: MNCH (Acc.)

NCH LogoUpgrading from Registered Membership to Accredited Membership of the NCH is only awarded to more experienced NCH members once they have been in practice for a number of years, who also hold a Hypnotherapy in Practice Diploma (HPD), and have demonstrated the degree of professional competence expected at this level of membership.

I am also a registrant of the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).

Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care, a body accountable to Parliament, providing additional assurance that registrants meet UK-wide standards of patient safety and service quality. The CNHC acts within the public interest and is the only organisation set up with government support to do so, and government has recommended that when seeking help from a complementary healthcare practitioner you should only choose one from an accredited register.

Additional qualifications:

.

  • I am fully qualified in the use of Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) which can be a helpful adjunct to psychotherapy and hypnotherapy practice and is a useful self-help tool for anyone to learn.

.

  • I hold a teaching certificate in teaching English as a foreign language (TESOL). While this may not seem strictly relevant, the ability to teach and explain concepts in a fun and easily absorbed way undoubtedly is.
